Leap FTP is a great little FTP program and favourite at Hosting UK available from www.leapware.com . To configure it to connect to one of our FTP servers to publish your site follow the instructions below.
1. Start Leap FTP. On the Tool bar click on the Address Book icon as shown

2. On the box that appears click the Add Site button and enter a site name in the box that appears

3. Make sure that the site you have created is selected and enter your site connection details.
4. These details will be in your setup confirmation mail which was sent to you by Hosting UK support when you applied for your account.
5. Enter the FTP site from that mail in the Address box and ensure that the Port box has the number 21 in it.

6. Enter your username in the username box and password in the password box.
7. In the box labelled Local Path you should enter the path to the directory that contains your web site files on your computer. If these were in a directory on your 'C:\' drive called 'website' then the path would be 'C:\website'
8. In the remote path box, enter a forward slash '/' and then your username. An example of this would be '/fred' if your username was 'fred'
9. Finally make sure you are connected to the internet and click the Connect button. After a short delay you should be connected and in the right hand window of Leap FTP you should see the directories on the server.

The WEBROOT directory is the location to which you should copy your web site files. Double click this directory to open it.
10. To publish your web site files highlight the files you want to publish in the left hand window and drag them over to the right hand window. Your files should now begin to copy over to the server.
